Supporting the Natural Processes of Learning

The image above is of flamingoes in Veta la Palma: a fish farm located in Spain (made famous by the chef Dan Barber). It is an example of transformation beyond a natural incidence to a supported, healthy, and high-functioning ecosystem. Following the relationships forged organically, the farm has co-designed (along with nature) a productive cycle of growth and restraint. In a learning ecosystem, my goal is to replicate this model using the principles of Grounded Design and Student-Centered Learning Environments.

“Learning is a personal, inward process. Building a course is much like building a relationship: it requires careful consideration, but also flexibility. Through my design work, I hope that I am able to create potent educational experiences that transform all adults into lifelong learners.”
